Pontiac wave stereo went dead, fuses ok
I was driving my 2006 Wave to the cottage last weekend, had the a/c on,heard a bang or loud pop from the back of the car and then the stereo went off.
I tried the stereo a short time later and it worked, but the next time I turned on the car,the stereo went super loud with lots of static and then died.
My friend did a quick check and determined the fuses were fine and there was power going to the unit. I also noticed that the clock on the car lost an hour and I know the clock and the stereo run on the same fuse. Still the stereo remains dead and the clock lives on. My friend advised that there might be another fuse in behind the stereo, just wanted to know if this is something an amateur like myself-and female-could try to troublecheck before paying someone. Thanks,

ya anyone can take out a deck to check fuses. its quiet simple rlly. i dunno personally how to take a wave deck out but u can find that out on google it will eventually give u a diagram on how to take it out. and once u get it taken out then you can unhook the wires with a simple clip to the back of the stereo. and beside that wiring there will be very noticable fuses. check them and see if thats it. if not then you will have to think of another solution
