Port Question
1 Attachment(s)
ok so i was wondering if the width of the port matters cause as you can see on my diagram for my sub they only give you the length and the one width for the size of the port. so could i make this port 10" x 4" x 15"?? or 10" x 4" x 20"? Im making it a rectangle port if that helps
thx guys jordan |
the diagram given is for a round port(aero) it is 4" in diameter, which is the distance across a circle. that is why there is only 1 measurment.

thx |
so you wanna make a slot port enclosure. if so, a 4" aero port is the equivlent of a square port area of 12.5"
|
but like look at that pic the port is huge...a square port with the area of 12.5" would be tiny

what are you trying to design the enclosure for? |
2 12" JBL Gto 1202D Dual voice coil subs. they are 1200 watt peak and 300 watt RMS..if you need to know any technical data i have it. and these subs are being powered by a kenwood 7201 amplifier.

those woofers arent going to need the amount of port area you see in that pic you attached.

This is a generic enclosure plan for 2 12" woofers
3.5 cubes @ 35hz w/ 40.5 square inches of port PM for a list of all dimensions if your interested |
see what i would like to do is have the speakers and the port coming out of the top like the picture i posted does. i would just like to know the dimensions for the port. i've spent hours trying to figure this stuff out and i came up with 7" x 3" x 10" ..i don't think that is right and thank you guys for helping. sorry if i am being a pain in the ass.
thx |
