That's what the forum is for... I've learned a lot over the last 4 years. Its nice to be able to help fellow enthusiasts out.

I'm in Brantford. Just west of Hamilton on the 403.

I think that your Low-pass is set too high. You could probably bring that down to 100Hz.
I'd turn that Bass EQ setting to its minimum setting, at least at the start. And your gain may have to be lowered as well. When you decide on a new set of subs, tune them with the settings near minimum, then bring them up slowly to get the best sound from them, without getting close to distortion.

What prices are you finding on those 10w3v3's? I find JL to be relatively expensive compared to other brands. There might be other options that can save you a few pennies, but aren't inferior to JL.

In your original post, you asked for suggestions on replacement subs...

Here's my suggestion:
Cadence 10" S2W10D2 <<< Link. You could give these subs 500W each, and they should perform well for you. If, at some point, you wanted to upgrade your amplifier, these subs still have room for more power.

I recently installed a 8" Cadence sub. Its mounted in a 10"x10"x9" sealed enclosure. The RMS on the unit is 250W, and I'm powering it with 300W at 4ohm, off a small Kenwood amp. It sounds amazing! I don't have the ultra-deep lows anymore, but its hits nice and hard for a little 8". For my family car its exactly what I was after.

Compare Features and Prices

This would be a no-brainer for me. Get actual pricing on both. I am 99.99% positive you'd be happy with the Cadence. And I bet you'll save a lot.

Awesome thanks for the info :) where would I find the settings for the subs?

Getting a real good deal on the JLs $80 for 2 :D

So got the V3s and they suck lol they don't pound nearly as hard as the V2s I had eventhough they're rated for way more power. Sometimes it sounds as if I don't have subs to begin with lol

Big D, try changing the Subwoofer Phase setting on the head-unit (assuming you have that option) from NORMAL to REVERSE.
I experienced the exact same issue when I installed that little Cadence sub. Once I switched the phase to REVERSE, there was an immediate and substantial increase in bass.
But, at the time, I wasn't sure that it was wise to leave it in that configuration. After some quick research and an okay from Dukk, I was good to go.

I get the impression that you need someone to help you tune your system. At the risk of sounding a little strange, I'd be cool with helping you in person - even though we're complete strangers.

Thanks for all your help :P wish I could try that but I have a stock head unit. Car is an 02 BMW M3.

Did some more testing and the subs pound great when I hook them up individually to the amp soon as I hook both in parallel they sound like a shorted sub.

Any ideas?

Ok so i pulled both subs out of the box and one of them had the wires in backwards i am le fail LOL fackin pounds so hard now god i love it and the gain and loudness dbs are way low and the lp filter is at about 75 amps not even working :D they pound way harder than the DVCs i had and theyre lighter best $80 EVER lmao
