Radio reception non-existent
So, in the hopes that my wife would leave the Mustang for me, I installed a Pioneer FH-P8000BT in our Kia Sedona. With the factory stereo, the reception was fine. With the new stereo, however, FM is terrible, and AM is non-existent. I've checked the attenna wire several times, and it's completely engaged, and I've installed an FM signal booster, to no avail. It's bad enough that we are now looking at re-installing the factory stereo. Any ideas? I called the Pioneer help-line, and just got "we aren't installers".

I had the same problem, but with my current car i didnt bother for radio.... what you can try is making the antenna out of a speaker wire and dragging it somewhere along the pillar or other place that's high enough, a loop might help...... worked for my old vehicle....

I have the exact same problem with my Kenwood deck today.
My stock Oldsmobile Alero am/fm stereo was amazing for reception (the better out of the vehicles we've had at least) and when I had the deck installed, it was gone. And it was installed professionally.
So I have no idea.

I have kinda the same idea going on with mine. With mine it is perfectly fine at lower volume, but as soon as i get the subs going a bit it goes to complete static, and the static goes with the bass. I am guessing in my case the antenna plug might be loose or something and shaking from the bass??? That was about the best thing i could come up with anyways.

Take out the pioneer, put the stock back in, see if there are any wires that power up with the radio turning on and off (not with the key)
Chances this is your antenna turn on, power this wire up.
Not every harness is correct for every vehicle.
Kia if i recall uses Hyundai harnesses, so just check all the wires coming out of the stock deck.

(Sorry it took me so long to get back, I hurt my back and just fixed it last night.)
