I think I understand now why the builder told me this new sub would be better than my other recones. Nothing to do with the magnet as he said before..

The 2 subs that I reconed ,were done with with a 1 piece "kit" from him. The spider essential sat up on the ledge, not flush with it.

I also left the plastic clamp rings on my recones because the goop sealed them to the rest of it during drying.

So here's a pic of the "new" subs spider etc and a pic of my recones.

Why will there be such a difference, would learning to recone with separate pieces instead of a kit gain me much?
