yellow top D35 for my car from the Optima web site:
Deep Cycle Battery; Grp. D35; Cold Crank Amps 650; Crank Amps 810; Reserve Capacity 98; Amp Hour 48; Top Terminal; L-9 5/16 in.; W-6 13/16 in.

red top 35 for my car from the Optima web site:
Group 35; Cold Crank Amps 720; Crank Amps 910; Reserve Capacity 90; Ampere Hour 44; Top Terminal; L-9 5/16 in.; W-6 13/16 in.; H-7 5/8 in.;

The red top is now claiming more CCA than a conventional battery too (the numbers support that claim), it is good competition for the Stinger and Odyssey

I have dozens of friends who use Kinetics as daily drivers, great batteries (but it doesnt get cold here so I cant comment on that Winter thing). It comes down to price and performance.... how much performance do you need and how much will you pay for it?

Red top= standard sealed gel battery
Yellow Top= DEEP CYCLE sealed gel battery

the yellow top can be brought down to 0 volts and then recharged with no damage to the battery, the red top is just a sealed battery and if brought below 8 volts the battery will not be the same.

Red top hands down. People get confused when they look into deep cycle because many fail to realize that you arent full cycling the battery with the car on defeating the purpose of deep cycle unless you are competing or burping with the car off on a regular basis. My group 34 or 35 can't remember Red Top is 910CA and 740ish CCA more than enough to start you're car in the Canadian north. The same size Yellow Top is 790~CA and 700ish CCA, but is almost twice the price.

Red top 100%.

I have an Orbital purple in my sunfire, I've never had a problem with it. cars starts great at -35c. I have 2 alpine 5 channel amps, when together can produce 2400w rms and draw 160 amps, I'm running 4 12's, 2 sets of components, and 2 8's and I can run my stereo fairly loud for a good half hour to 45 mins with the car off and it will start up like nuthin.

oh yeah and how do you get a top post battery to fit in a 2001 sunfire. The hood comes really close if I put a top post battery in. Right now I only have the side post battery with nothing on top.
