there never going to warm up unless you play em on low volume. If your waiting for the heat vents to warm them up you'll be at your destination by the time they do.

Besides that u have to have the deck out too hook up the rca's and the carpet to run the powers so ethir way its all out so its not that hard, but I do see what your saying.

Like I said. it's only one extra wire so really its no benefit. just a cool idea.

Stock HU with a LOC... this way there's no need to find a switched 12v and run it from the front to back

Switched 12v for remote-on sucks anyway. Most of the time you get thumps and pops if the radio is turned on or off while the car is on. Fewer cars are coming with power antennas these days too so no factory controlled switch. It's handy for OEM integration.

when you drive a couple hours or more there going to warm up a bit, and basically there either off on cold days or on low for a bit on not so cold days but need to be taken easy on for a bit.

Home theater subs have been doing this for ages. Mine has a toggle, always on, or on with signal.

Im going to go test this right now.
My MTX amp had this. It works on the principle that while the head unit is on there will always be a bit of DC offset from the preamps (you were right). The amplified outputs will exagerate this, so it works beautifully for adding to OEM without using RCAs.
