Hi I have a 2001 Mazda Tribute (same as Ford Escape, just different badge) and want to remove my factory deck, so I can replace it. I have replaced decks before. I am wondering does anyone know how to remove this DIN deck? It is a double DIN hole for the higher end factory decks. I think that you can remove the CD holder thing by using a DIN tool. How about the deck itself? I was going to first remove the CD holder and go from there. I thought maybe someone on here might know before I start tearing my dash apart, it might make things easyer.

Also I want to keep the CD tray, do you guys think I will need a dash kit when I put the new deck in? I was going to try putting the deck in without a kit, there is a word for this type of insolation, but I can not think of the word at this moment.
