Angry Stupid Pioneer deck

I'm trying to sell my old DEH-8MP to raise funds for a new DEH-P800PRS, but it's suffering from the standard "Pioneer eject" problem, ie: the belts all work fine, but the CD won't eject because it's not touching the belts. If you use another CD to push down on the CD in the tray, it comes out fine.

There is no Pioneer service center in my area, so I need to fix this myself. Anybody have a general clue what to do before I go diving in? I can't sell the damn thing if it's broken.

Um...ok. Not a very informative post.

I know my way around electronics, I've soldered plenty of circuit boards in my day. Just looking to see if anybody has fixed this themselves and can give me a heads up.

Holy crap, I actually found a DIY for this in the oddest place: a typewriter museum page:

Selectric Typewriter Museum-Pioneer DEH-P4500MP Car Stereo CD MP3 player head unit disassembly repair take apart eject stuck failure problem clean roller

I'm going to give it a shot next week and see what happens. I'll maybe re-host the page on my server so it's not lost
