Subs are going bump, bump, bump... (plase help)
Ok so i have Alpine CDA 9886 Deck 2 Alpine amps both 500 watts, one connected to stereo bass, and one from one amp to the other RCA cables.
2 Alpine Type X 10" subs (one connected to each 500 Watt amp)
a Alpine amp for my speakers (250 watt amp)
Everything is set up correctly and was working fine up till today. I was listening to music then it cut out. the bass only goes thud, thud, thud (very quiet thuds no matter the volume), and the sound plays but only very very quietly until volume 8 then of go to 9 will cut out and not play....
Would this be my deck outputs fried, or the amp fried, or something else that i do not know is wrong.
Now it is about a 43 degree celcous day here right now, so could this be heat related? Even though i did put some ice packs on the amps to cool them all down because i thought it was the amps over heating, that however did not work.
I appreciate your help
Thank-you in advance

and i have one 4 guage wire split into 2 8 guages for the 2 500 watt amps.
The sub amps are mounted on the box at the top, and the speaker amp is mounted at the side of the box.
The grounds are on a clean metal surface of the vehicle.
No it did not smell funny.
**UPDATE**
I tested from a friends RCAs that 2 of the amps are 100% working so i eliminated the 3rd amp, but the deck still cuts out at volume 9, so i am thinking this could be my decks preouts are fried maybe? or is there anything else i can try?

not even a chuckle EH... tough audience
so you powered the speakers from your amp, using another RCA... correct?? if so you can eliminate 3, 4 and 5 below (I would put my money on the RCA as that could slip off)
1- it is the deck
2-it is the RCA
3-it is the amp (including power wire)
4-it is the speaker wire
5- it is the woofer

I am 100% sure the subs are fine because i tested them with a old crappy amp i have, i have although found out that one of my sub amps i think is done for. It powers on, but red light comes on and all you hear is a little power going to the subs in small thuds.
I however can not conclude if it is amp or wires, but power wire and ground wire are fine (tested with voltmeter).
Does anyone know what red light means on a Phoenix Gold Octane 4.0:2 amp. It is either shot or something else is causing this problem.
1. Upgrade your electrical. 8awg is meant to wire subwoofers, not amps.
2. Make sure your ground is grounded to bare metal, and nothing else.
3. I would disconnect all the amps, and test them separately.

Yes there are 3 RCA cables in total, 2 for speakers, and one for subs.

another one broMake sure you ground is fully secured with a good crimp or better yet crimp and solder.
Check your Radio connections first. especially your ground.
