Question subs sound quieter in different vehicle

Ever since I've moved my system into a different car it has been much quieter. It has been in several cars since I've gotten my stereo, and it's without a doubt had the most bass in the Sunfire. Originally I had it in a 93 Caprice Classic which is a very, very big car. It sounded good to me, but I eventually put it in a Sunfire. It was soooooo loud, and I loved it. But now i have a Caprice and it's a much nicer car, the system LOOKS better in it...but it sounds much quieter. The quality of the music is great, but it seems now that it goes a little too much louder than the bass does. I have a Sony MEX-BT5000 Head Unit, 100 watt 4x6 Pioneer door speakers, 260 watt Sony 6x9's for the rears, and two 400 watt RMS 12" Earthquake subwoofers. The amplifier is a pretty shitty one but it seems to have done me well. It is a Lanzar "4000 watt" 2-channel amplifier. It's obviously not that much because my 8-gauge wire would be fried... But anyways my question is, am I just used to it being really loud in the other car or could there be something I've forgotten? If so, what could I be forgetting? I think I may just need a new amp because my subs don't look like they're pounding as much as they could... All I know is i want more bass and any help is appreciated.

The same box has been used in different vehicles and the box will always differ from car to car. If it was loud in your sunfire it was at a nice frequency with your vehicle?trunk. So therefore being in a different car means a different frequency at which the car is best at. Also another factor is your trunk. Your trunk is like a box around your box. In your sunfire it was much smaller therefore it made a large difference being in there as opposed to being in a much larger trunk. So my suggestion is get a different box.

0 gauge would be good, also do the big three, this is a wire directly from your alternator positive to your battery positive, another ground from your battery negative to the frame of your car, and a ground from your alternator or engine block to the frame of your car and make sure it is all 0 gauge. Dont worry about a second battery if you are worried just get a new one for up front, unless you plan on running your stereo loud all the time, or compete. The caprice's alt is good and decent. What are you looking for in performance from your sub/box? Sound pressure, sound quality, a little bit of both?

box..

i do enjoy having sound quality, but i think if i have a sub like this i should be using it for bass. id like to have alot of bass for rap/hiphop/techno, but still have the obtion of sound quality for rock or metal. i listen to a very wide variety of music. i have speakers that i believe sound nice, so its easy for me to change the eq so theres a nice balance of both treble and bass when i need there to be. thanks for the advice in advance, youve already been a great help.
