Subwoofer Injuries

subs blow up when enclosure is designed wrong, when the amplifier is underpowered or set-up wrong, when the signal is disstorted and the volume is up etc etc etc but never heard of a sub die from some serious "headbanging"
a sealed sub, with the right enclosure and the right amplifier is problemproof
I often listen to techno, or even drum and bass/garage {more faster beat} and the sub worked just fine, although it is underpowered.

In a larger one I guess the sub will perform better, especially it will play even lower frequencies. But bigger is harder to build, more time spent on sealing and damping etc...
Bigger means 20 to 50% over the capacity prescribed by the sub's manufacturer. Over that there's no reason for choosing a sealed enclosure.
ps: I'm doing everything to loose the sub in my trunk but because of the idiot way of fixing speakers in doorpanels on french cars at the moment I can't play my woofers under 80 hz... They perform well even at 35-40 hz but the doorpanels rattle like ****** ... I need brax x vibration and special woodrings, but I also have to modify seriously the doorpanels... car still in warranty ...
