system cutting out

hey guys i know there's a thead already about system cutting out at high volume but my amp is not going in protect mode...

so here's the story. i was driving to work this morning and playin some tunes(not loud) everything was good, then it just cut out for a second and came back...i thought it was just the xm radio being crazy, so i switched to a cd. i continued to drive and it was keep cutting out at about 38+ volume(pioneer deh 7900bt volume goes to 62) i turned it down then its fine again...so i just got home from work and i checked my amp(jbl gto1004) all the connections are good, fuses are good and power is also good. so do you guys have any ideas what i should check for? or what could be the problem...thx in advance

When a problem is related to the volume setting there are two main possibilities: heat and vibration. Heat can cause problems inside the amp with solder joints and semiconductors. Vibration can open connections that measure fine when the music is off, or close intermittent shorts. Easiest way to find the culprit is to swap out each component until the problem disappears. Maybe a friend could help you by lending some gear if you don't have spares.

I own a 4 channel gto 75.4 and I've had the rare occurence of a channel cutting out... a little switch and contact cleaner in the dip switches (lp/hp/full) and everything was fine... everything just needs a little fine tuning from time to time

Also, sometimes it could be the ground cable. A buddy of mine had a similar issue and that was the cause of it.
