Voltage drop at ground terninal

about a week ago i had to get a jump from my boss cause my battery was taking a **** ans has since been replaced, but after that one particular jump, my front left blinker blew out (fixed) and my amp went into protect mode. I checked every fuse in the truck and they all check out, i even replaced the one on the amp for good measure even though it looked ok. after messing around with the dmm, im getting about 7 volts from the 12v in terminal to the ground out terminal, which idk if that is nornal but i dont think so. I tried checking the volts to an independent chassis ground for everything and i noticed im getting about a 6.4 voltage drop from the ground terminal to an independent ground. im not an expert so idk how or why this would happen, if its normal (which i dont think it is after some reading) or how to fix it if it isnt, but i really want my bass back so any help/advice is appreciated, thanks.

**SOLVED**

it was just a bad ground, probably just quit by coincidence.
