Get that box out of there and have the proper one made. To me it sounds like the shop just did not want to take the time to make a custom box for you. A custom box will breathe new life into your subs and chances are make your mirrors useless at the same time.

I would guess street b but I'm a bit out of touch on the rules.

Sounds like your settings and wiring is probably mostly up to par, I'm leaning towards box being most of your issue but I'm still wondering how you burned coils.

People are probably bringing the X types back because they don't have enough power on them. You have 2kw+... and the X types have more xmax than the R's... so survey says properly powered X types will be louder.

If you really want stupid loud you need to look at different subs...

Kicker Solo X's
Digital Designs 35/95/9900 series
MTX 9500's
RE XXX/MT/SX series
RF T2's

Dunno what's "cool" in the spl scene right now but if you check out termpro or a SPL oriented site should find out pretty quick.

DD3512's would fit this bill with ease. Build a nice dog house for them and that will give you copious neighbourhood annoying amounts of bottom end to shake your teeth loose.
