10" x 4 box idea

I came up with this idea, just not sure if it would sound alright. My concern is that the ports might cause cancelling issues because of their positioning.
I wanted to do slot ports, but they wouldnt fit.
It's basically just 2 boxes with the subs facing each other, then the ports on the sides, then a board across the back and a board across the top. The goal was to avoid using the whole trunk and sorta "aim" the sound into the car.
It would be sealed to the trunk opening obviously.
Do you think this would sound reasonable? It isnt SPL based....and i guess technically not SQ based either. Basically just lookin to get sorta loud, so i dont want the ports canceling things out. hehe

Thanks in advance.

^^^ yes, he does. I heard that box. It sounded GREAT! Got crazy low for 10's.

Your design will work if tuned properly, but the one that Derek (fox_racin) has is far superior. Hell, you guys could even meet up somewhere in the middle.

Hey, i would be more than happy to go to Windsor (my brother lives in Leamington, so its not far away), but unfortunately i dont have much to work with. The dimensions you gave me wouldnt even come close to fitting. Only reason this build would work is cause i would build the 2 boxes first, lay them onto the bottom sheet, then lay the top sheet on and put the back on all while it's in the car already.
Trust me, i would MUCH rather go with that box design he showed me, it would look awesome in my trunk. hehe

thats the one im talking about!!!

cut it in half then slide it into your trunk then reassemble

your not going to get a big box into your trunk in one piece without cutting the steel behind the seat for the box to slide threw from the inside of your car

Actually i did some remeasuring and found that the only dimension that i couldnt make work for that box is the depth of it (front-to-back). My trunk only has a usable space of 40"W x 25"D x 15"H. I would be able to go higher but the trunk opening only allows 15" max.
I was getting all excited because i thought i figured out a way to fit it, but it's just that depth that i cant make work.

It's a 95 Toyota Tercel by the way.

I was gonna build the sides outside of the car, then lay the bottom in and assemble the sides to the bottom, then slide the top in and assemble it. If only i could get the depth to work. Only way i could see it working is to cut the trunk opening off completely and make it go right into the back seat.
Unfortunately this is my daily driver (work car) so that isnt really an option. I actually need that back seat quite a bit.

Just curious, what was your best score with that box anyway?
I couldnt expect anywhere near your score because i am working with much weaker subs, but just curious.
