if you think a gran prix trunk is small

check out steve meade's civic on youtube
the old setup before things got stolen
he had two 18s in the trunk

might be worth a look to get some ideas

this thread is going no where fast.

you are going to need an enclosure, after displacements, that is around 7 cubic feet @ 36hz

i HIGHLY doubt you will have that kind of room in your trunk, but i wouldn't know since i dont have the car infront of me... but judging by the fact is a GM, you dont have enough height to run this thing sealed off from the trunk.

i would suggest building the largest enclosure possible, that will be able to slide in and out of the trunk. building an enclosure within the trunk is a task, and i dont think you are experienced enough to do it.

so, you need to find out what the largest dimensions are in which you can fit an enclosure, and run the sub up and port back... i think you will be lucky to get 6 cubes after disp due to the amount of port area needed for an 18"

all i can say is, you have your work cut out for you.

An 18 will be pretty cool in a trunk if you can make it work but people on here are th best so take thier advice. 2 12s would be easier but what are the the wattage on those subs? If you wanna enter spl competitions there is a lot to learn. Start off by reading what other people with trunk cars did. And look at the big 3 setup and then running 0 gauge wire. Try to look up what class you wanna be in. Go to termlab.com or termpro.com can't remember what it is. Term pro is the computer setup they use to measure how "loud" you are. Ya if u wanna compete there is some stuff you gotta look up to figure it all out lol
