Alpine Type X help
I have an Alpine type X 12" sub and I am looking for some suggestions for my box. I Currently own an 06' mitsu lancer RA and am thinking of making a small enclusure that takes the width of my trunk and firing my sub in backwords? What are your veiws on this, and any feedback is greatly appreciated(as long as its positive ppl). Thanks in advance for any help.

i got a single 10" type x and just put it in an abc enclosure. Hofulstrof hooked me up with the box design and it pounds. i had it in a sealed box before and it sounded really good but it wasnt that loud. it pounds way more in the new box and still sounds pretty clean. id go with a ported box if i were you. mines hooked up to a mrd-m1001 and it powers is perfectly. the type x is a power hungry sub and i think u might be under powering it with a mrd500.
just my opinion

Hey ... I loved the box deisgn you hooked me up with, but it was for my other setup(which I sold), and now I have a type X, And now its off a kicker kx1200.1, for now, but it pounds like crazy!!! love it, My problem with a huge box to spec, is I dont have the room to do it well...Im working with a handicap here :S...I would love to run my sub to its potential and get it to run! My ideal amp would be a 2500.1 to run it, just cause..lol. But now I need a new design, Holf buddy can you hook me up AGAIN?? LOL...

they type x dont really need that big of boxes the problem is they like lower tuning and that creats a really long port. id have to look at the spec's but im sure it would be soemthing like 2.0cf @ 33hz. i could hook you up again. ill be gone for the long weekend so maby i could have something togther by thursday or friday. oh and you both have pm's

i have two X types, and the best way to do it, is to call alpine and ask them for spec, i have a cavalier and my hole trunk is a box!!! THE MORE SPACE OR CF. THE BETTER THATS WHAT THE ALPINE TECH GUY SAID.
that what i did and i have two of them and runing Two PDX-1.1000 for each sub and they are very very loud. ALREADY GOT TWO TICKETS FOR LOUD MUSIC AND STILL GOING STRONG!!!!!

Hey I'd like to build my first box. I have 2 of the 12" Type X's and I want them as loud as they will go so I'm looking into ported. But I have a few questions before building anything. Is it better louder put them in their own ported enclosure with a divider between each side, or to put them both in one enclosure with no dividing wall. How is the Vent size changed when both subs are put into one inclosure, Do I just put 2 of the vent, or one large one in the middle?
As you can see, I'm clueless, I am building my first box and it is for expensive subs so I'd rather have it perfect. Whatever design anyone could give me would probably help. I have a small saturn SC1 and the trunk is smaller than Stock, I've got my rear deck 6x9's in speaker boxes so that takes about 10 inches from the available space. Whatever is the loudest ported box and the smallest is what I want. And I'd like the Vents to be on the same wall as the subwoofer so I can face them forward and feel the breeze .
