Best way to do this in an Audi A4

Kevin, Kevin, Kevin.....
I would measure up the area first to figure out the airspace you have to work with. I would attack this from the top down. As in make a cover, leave space for the amp and the sub so that they are not flush with the top cover, this will leave you the balance of the space left to work with. Cardboard is your friend here. I would think that for a good balance of sound with the stock system, a single 10" or 12" in a small sealed box would easily do the trick. This will tell you whether you need to move the amp somewhere else (to gain more airspace for the box or for mounting depth for the sub). How will you be integrating the amp into the system, a basic LOC or a advanced interface adaptor that will allow you to control the sub?

Ya MR2NR that's kind of along the lines of what I was thinking, I will for sure get measurements soon, it has a fairly strong system stock (he hit 116db in a no sub class and took 2nd haha) but he has a pioneer AVIC-D3 h/u and we both love the idea of a cover to look clean and stock, maybe with some embossed audi rings, (all that can be determined later) anyways I figured it would be good to start with some cardboard, my main issue is how to build the box, airspace wise does it matter what shape the box is if it is sealed and as long as it is the correct cubic feet? Thanks

yes yes yes but the floor can go up and make a new that looks like the stock one ! i would have the sub on the sibe not in the well ! one on each side (ported ) amps in the well ! oh with a fan on two . have the amps on a 30*-45* rewire the car for the new speakers run the 4ch to them and the momo to the subs
balance of sound with the with the new speakers i would run two 12" subs (one for each side of the car

My only concern of having the sub on the side is space and factoring in building the box I feel it would be tricky and a odd shape, in the middle if we took advantage of both the middle of the wheel well as well as the fact that we can move the floor up I feel it will be a little more manageable, thanks alot for the ideas, just quick question though ,does it matter essentially what shape the box is? Say a long rectangle that is more wide then deep for space reasons, as long as it fulfills the need of air space I will be ok right? Thanks again
