Hmm thanks for the ideas. Ill talk to my shop teacher and see what he says about that stuff. I actually want to make the plexi removable so I was just going to use clear silicone to act as glue and to seal it and screws to hold it down so its easy enough to remove and do some maintenance, should any of the lights ect. die. Would this be a good idea or should I just make due with working through the sub holes instead if a problem occurs on the inside?

It would be messy every time you pull off one side, plus you may have to scrape before re-sealing. If you really had to use adhesive, then actual Weathstripping Adhesive which is that thin brown gooey stuff that never cures would be best.

Why not use some 1/8" weatherstripping to seal it? Canadian Tire sells it in little rolls (in bags) for like 5 bucks. They call it Foam Tape but it's weatherstripping.

Cheers

I've never heard of weatherstripping. Definately going to look into it though! Sounds pretty much perfect for what i need to seal the plexi in place.

A question of pure looks in general: To screw down the plexi i'm using 3/4" #6 stainless steel screws. Now I either have the option of countersinking the screws and using flatheads OR no countersink and use round head screws to give it a sort of rivet effect. What do you think?

counter flat heads then fill and mask out a 1 inch boarder around your plexy and pain to match, then again that counteracts what you said about being serviceable but would look sick.

THE EASY WAY

Socket Head Cap Screws. These are not exotic, and are nothing more than a normal screw (self tapping OR machine thread) but they use an Allen Key head.

Hex Socket Screws, Socket Head Cap Screws

They are MEANT to sit on the outside and they look good doing it

Cheers
