Box design

I want to build a new box for my Alpine Type R's. I am currently running a sealed box and I would like to build a ported one. The only thing is I cant find recommended enclousure size for a ported box for this sub. Also what would would be a good tuning frequency for this box? I like to listen to mainly rap and love lots of bass. It will be strictly for daily driving. The subs are swr-1021d. 300rms dual 2ohm.

Dont everybody through out your advice at once lol. In case my first post wasnt specific enough, I am just looking to find out what a good box volume is, and tuning frequency. Would 32hz be good? This is my first attempt at building a ported box so sorry for the dumb questions.

The manual doesn't have recommendations for a ported enclosure size, just sealed. The newer model, swr-1022, recommends a .6-1.25cuft enclousure. What are t/s parameters? I couldn't find any information on that. I have the extended cab part of a Nissan King Cab to work with. There is a fair amount of room back there. I dont want two different boxes, just one box with two chambers

I looked for the specs online last night but no such luck....don't know why Alpine doesn't have them on it's site...

The T/S numbers should be in the manual, if you can post 'em here you'll probably get half a dozen boxes posted back in no time...

.

everyones fav tuning is different you will have to experiment and find yours
every car is different i could build a box tuned for 30hz and in my car it sounds like *** and does not pound but if i put the box in your car with the same amp same song same volume its a "wounder box" that pounds like no other...

for me i like 40 hz for rap-hip hop but that is in my escorts all tho my car's own res freq is 156.4hz so for spl i would want 156.4 but that is just to high for SPL/daily driving...

also look at the T/S of the subs (i dont know alpines) and see what the sub likes to do. and let the sub/car tell you what the tuning is... making a box is never pulling numbers out of your butt it is pure MATH also keep in mind the features on your amp look for subsonic filter cut off and freq band of the amp (20hz-500hz) also look at the bass boost what is the center (45hz mostly)
also sound is suppose to be linnear keep that in mind

no one less they have the same car same amp same deck same CD can tell you the 100%best box to build they can only recomend and you might win or lose
