box design for 4 12's

hey guys i got a question for the box designers and spec guys...

i got 4 12" alpine type R's the older style

swr-1242D 1500w max and 500rms at 4ohm...
there in my trunk for my stealth and i think the box is under extreme pressure cause i keep blowing out the 2 top ones of the box. (pics in photobucket link to sub box folder... not very descriptive pics but it works i hope)

http://s814.photobucket.com/albums/zz63/3kgtstealthfwd/sub%20box/

just wondering if i could potentionally damage my subs from this box design or if they would be fine... i just dont want to have to spend more money this year

ugh bad year....

LMK guys please

Do you mean you keep blowing your subs that are inverted? Do they share the same airspace? How big is the box? Myself i believe it is because they share the same airspace and you have 2 inverted and 2 not, and it is sealed and believe its casuing excessive or unwanted pressure on the woofers. Some one can correct me if im wrong.

To invert you need two amps with one phased, so all are pushing/pulling at the same time.

why would you need two amps? couldn't you just wire two subs in reverse and make them play out of phase to the two wired correctly?

A second amp is not necessary.

yes guys the one sub is not hooked up completely... it has one power running to it...

the 2 inverted subs are wired backwards to avoid the hole problem but i will fix that because i need another amp hence the reason why theres only one power running to the inverted...

as well the air space is common for all 4 subs and it definitely is not big enough for those 2 inverted i believe lol...

by blowing out i mean one or the other inverted subs keeps popping out of its place and hanging ten over the others resting on the window :S... and these have all the screws in them now!!!!

any way i have looked up the air space needed for these and i believe its 1.75 cubic feet of air space per inverted sub... the depth of my trunk is only like 11" and the width of the box is like 33"? and then length is about 26"...
with all those measurements you still have to subtract the magnets from the non inverted subs... and dip in the mold for the subs(how it goes in) plus the dip for the spare tire well on the bottom... im guessing around 1.5 cubic feet or so of air :S

also i have another idea i wanted to do which i will be doing over the winter when it goes to storage ill post pictures soon

thanks again guys
mike

thank goodness two guys who know stuff agree with me lol. Paul, Wayne Harris called, said you're banned from DB Drag so you can stop trying to be loud, let me become the loudest minivan again lol.

and DJ, wham breds? when we limin?

anways, enough thread jacking, mike, how important is the back seat of your car? just asking because with the limited space you might be happier with a wall. but just a suggestion.

or maybe DeadlySones might be willing to extend a hand and give you some person to person help. but I have no idea how far Essex is from Windsor

Are you saying you were wondering why the subs weren't staying in place when they weren't screwed in?
