3 cubes @ 35hz should do for a nice daily enclosure.

FOR SPL:

What vehicle?
What amp?
and of course max dimensions...

don't mean to thread jack...but what exactly is it about the amp you need to know when designing the box? is it rms and ohm capabilities? i'm looking at trying to make my own box possibley this summer too, i want try ported if it doesn't take too much space up, in my 07 Fusion (grocery/kidmobile). atm i'm in a .6ft^3 sealed for space and money reasons. sounds decent(to me) but notice the drop(loss) in deep tones when rap/ hip-hop is on.

Yes, power... if your over powering the sub a smaller enclosure helps. If underpowering or giving around rated power to the sub, a little larger enclosure sounds better on lower tuning.

ok, on the sub's T/S #'s it say's Vas is 1.272ft^3 and Fs is 32Hz. Is that the net size and tuning freq. I should be aiming for?

Start your own thread.....

VAS (volume of air that offers the same degree of restoring force on the cone as that of the cone's suspension)

Fs (the resonant frequency in free space)
