nvm, was looking at the build in a different way, thought you made 2 boxes. But i noticed it was just a large front baffle supporting the amp and the sub, then the *actual* enclosure mounted on the rear. So i withdraw my above statement.

Turbulance is caused by air moving over a sharp corner or edge. Think of the air behind an 18-Wheeler when its on the highway. The best box would then really be around or straight, and thats also why ports are flaired/rounded.

Check this snail box out:

Yea I think they are $40,000. If you want to see other crazy stuff like $40K amps goto www.exoticaudio.org. They have a picture of an insanely big sub horn on page 12 that made my jaw drop. They should make that place into a club!!!

i could never bring myself to buy such expensive things like that. I'd rather go the DIY route, and be proud of the work accomplished!

Some of those are DIY jobs. Thats why they are so expensive, not mass produced, just some guy in a shop.

those are no way DIY jobs, to them its DIY, but to you/us its just another product to buy.

DIY ... aka DO IT YOURSELF, meaning you build it yourself. not have someone else build it for you

Well I did mean it as in a direction WE could take. The drivers in these boxes arent $40000. And a lot of those crazy box's are DIYers, that were like us.
