Build another box?!?

I have a box, but its loaded with 2 kicker squares..and i wanted to move to round subs..(dd 3512 ) i was just wondering if there someway of going about modifying the box to accomodate 2 round subs, without having to build another box, cuz the box thats in there cost me about $400..and since i have no idea how to build my own..i need to keep this one. thanks

You can try making a panel and putting it on the face. But if your box is carpeted, that wouldn't work too well and would leak like crazy hehe. Another thing you can think of is adding the pieces from the inside.
Also check for tuning frequency, maybe your DDs would need a differently tuned box. Also the volume does matter. More info about your box would be great.

Cut the carpeting off the front of the box, clean off the glue that held it there. Cut a new mdf front baffle and glue and screw it to the old front. Reupholster the front of the box.

DD3512 = serious lb.age

I've never actually taken the carpet of the box, but is it really fun? Especially if it's been glued with contact cement?
I have to try this activity sometimes.

If you want to increase the port surface, that would bring the increase in port length to stay at the same tuning frequency. If I'm right. I'm not good with rectangular ports, more used to play with round flared ones.

This will be really messy man, just build a new box, it's not hard and fun.

If I recall correctly about $20-30 for a 4x8ft sheet of 3/4.
