Building box, need help with port

ok your vent will be on the side of the box, make the opening 2" your heighth will be 15.5" (taking in .75" of material thickness on top and bottom) and the length will be 25"

Cheers!

Just to be sure of the dimensions of the port, it ill be 2"x15.5" and will have a 25" depth inside the box?

Your welcome !! now one big factor to do when your building your enclosure make sure to round the vent on the inside of the box and the outside.Basically your rounding the edges of the wood.

Oh also, does it matter how far away I place the subs from the port?

Anothe little trick Is to try to keep the woofers as far from a rear wall as possible . This tones down any back wave cancellation . One step further is texturing the wall behind the subs with an uneven surface ( like you see on recording studio walls)
One trick I use is to coat that wall with fiberglass cloth and pull little points up all over the surface before the resin completely dries . This diffuses the standing back wave pretty good.
