Smile Custom Shape Project

So here's what I want to do:

I'd like to install a subwoofer enclosure in my car that will fit in the space behind the wheel well, so that it won't intrude on my valuable trunk space. I measured the space that I want to put it, and made a quick sketch of what I'd like to do.

I've never built an enclosure before so I have a few questions and concerns about whether this is a good idea or not.

First of all, I don't know if the enclosure is big enough. Given the dimensions I'd like to use, the depth of the box would be 250 mm (10 inches) and the volume would be approximately 0.1 m^3 (3.5 ft^3). Also the hinges that hold up the trunk swing down and that restricts the height to 300 mm (12 in). (this occurs in the shaded green zone in the diagram) What size of sub would I be able to fit into an enclosure this size?

Second, is there an acoustic problem with making a trapezoid shaped sub box? Will it still sound good because of the shape? Also is this a bad location choice as far as acoustics? And is porting a good choice, and if so where should I put the port(s).

Thanks so much,

Marc

More trouble than its worth IMO, the most youre gonna fit in there is a ten due to youre hieght restrictions due to the hinge, and a ten in a sealed enclosure really wont take up too much space anyways.
But if ya wanna put the work in a do it, ya it will work.

How much space do I need/want (approximately) for a 10? One other question, how should I attach it to the floor because it'll fall over if its just sitting there.
