first time building box questions!

hi there guys, i was thinking of maybe building a box for my RE SE 12"
but i have a few questions. the box i have it in right now, the sub broke the box, and that just had screws in it.

- what can you u'se to make the box stronger so that doesnt happen?
- how do you tune a box to ~30-33 hz?
- and is a slot port as simple as just cutting a rectangle on the face?

the RE SE manual has dimensions for what size the box should be. im seriously considring starting this build. thanks! The optimal amt of cubes for this sub is 2.0@33Hz. If I build it in a larger box, bigger than 2 cubic feet, would that be BAD for the sub?

use liquid nails (Its a construction adheviese for sub floors) with 3/4 mdf and screw it together.go to the re website and use the box calculator.it will tell you what size slot port.all you have to do is type in the numbers print it out and get building.
