you need to give us max dimensions, car its going in, music you listen to, and power you're giving the woofer before any design can be done

Like i said, the enclosure volume is 3.5 cuft, i listen to dance, house, rap, hiphop, r&b. I plan on running 800watts for the pair of woofers, I also plan on building 2 of these enclosures to fit in my Avalanche, so in total i will have 4 12's, and 2 800 watt amplifiers. Hope this helps
and i would perfer sloted ports.

The most important thing we need to know is the maximum useable dimensions, not the car, music preference, subs or power.

if i remember correctly, the avalanche has the opening to the tailgate, so is the enclosure going to be mounted there?

Yes, i will be mounting the 2 enclosures in the cargo area facing towards the front seating area of the truck.

i would suggest that you seal off the entire are width and height wise... obviously depth will not be an issue, so we need to know the width and height you have to work with

it sounds like the confusion is coming from the fact that he wants to have two separate enclosures, what is really recommended is that you design an enclosure that has all four subs in one facing out of that hole that goes into the trunk, i believe its called a "blow through", so they wanna know the size of the hole between the bed of the truck and the cab, so that you can see if you have enough room to put four subs and still have room for ports on that surface area, it wouldnt be smart to build two enclosures and put one infront of the other or something like that
