help with box build what to do?
I have built many boxes in my life but this is the first time I am asking people if they have an idea of what style of box to build for my new subs, I have two 12" PioneerTS-W3001 dual 4 ohm subs and will be running them off an orion 2500d, now my question is manily do I go ported or sealed? what will be better for these subs? they will be installed into either a sunfire or cavalier, I have no worries with building a wall if needed, the drawing board is completly open for ideas help a fellow bass head out please
Thanks
Thanks
hey, I just built a box for 2 Pioneer TS-W2000spl subs. they are the model that came out before the ones you have. I built 2 seperate boxes for each sub. they are 3 1/2 cubic feet each, with 3x12x20.5 inch ports, which is tuned to 33 hertz. they sound wicked, very clear, and very loud when wanted. I'm thinking this set up will work for those subs as well. but in a sunfire or cav. you'll probably have to use the back seat for that volume.
I would suggest 4 cuft with 80 sqin of port tuned to 35 hz you will have a hard time getting them in the trunk but it will fit from sliding it in from the car with the seats down. Sealed these subs work well and handle loads of power in sealed or small enclosures. I had over 3500 to one for a whole year. I could also suggest, building a 3 cuft box. subs facing forward and port facing into trunk, 6 inch aeroport or 3-4 in aeroport.
ok I have 36" wide and 16" high and whatever I will need in length anywheres from 22"-48" I dont use my back seat so if I need to use that space I will, can some one give me some demensions, I want this done right
