Help with calculation?! what is my box tuned to?
I bought 2 12's recently and it came with 2 boxes. one box was for 2 subs and another for just 1 sub. the one for two of them had one of the sides sealed off making it for just one sub when it was designed for two. So i would like to know what this box is tuned to because i liked the way this sounded compared to the smaller single sub box.
sub using is a Rockford T2 12"
outside dimensions (may be off by an 1/8 or so):
36" x 15" x 19 1/4"
Port:
3" gap
13.5" tall
12 3/4" deep into the box.
leaves a little over 6 3/4 from the back wall.
Can somebody PLEASE help me and tell me what this box is tuned to?!?
Thanks!
Justin

Assuming your box is made from 3/4" Mdf then your internal size is 4.78 Cu. ft. minus .3 Cu. Ft. for port and roughly .2 Cu. Ft. for sub displacement that gives roughly 4.25 Cu. Ft. tuned to between 36Hz - 38Hz
Hope this helps

thanks guys.
yes, it's 3/4" sorry to leave that out. i know its low 30's (well i hope) because thats what i wanted to tune my next box to so i wanted to see if i am on the right track...
would putting another 12" in that box change the tune much?
