Question Jalat - Square sub volume calculations?

Hi Jalat,
When u have some time could you please help me out with the box size/shape? I've lost a link (got it from this forum) where are plenty of designs blue prints tuned for the size/frequency. But I would rather go with your advice if u have time to spare...

Anyway the applicant is Solobaric L7 12", according to Kicker that would equal the surface of14'' standard round sub... With this weird size guess there are no blue prints available :-(

I am into pop, sometimes rap and this heavy pounding "house" or "club" type of the music. Not sure if I can get "chest" bass with 750RMS but I really like to sqeeze as much as possible. You know the bass you dont hear but feeeeeel

Would that be 30Hz? 3/4MDF?

2.35 cubic feet @38hz

reason for the higher tuning is because you mentioned house music. but also you'll be able to mantain the lower end of rap music.

let me know if you need a blueprint done

So the bigger is not being better.... Not to question your expertise, but something in my mind tells me that most of the folks here are going biiiiIIIIiiig :-) Kicker saying 1.75-3.25 for the vented construction.
We are talking about vented construction right?

Why not build a kicker spec'd enclosure?
Download the manual from the website and build the largest one you can fit.

3.25 cf, Fb=37Hz, Port 13.25"Hx3"Wx14.5"L

i found that the largest suggested enclosure kicker reccomends also gives you the sloppiest bass. I've tested with a 12" L5 before and found that somehwre in the middle (2.35 cubic feet) does the job

Hmmm

Thanks,
Ok, before wasting your time, for the blueprint in plain language what would be the difference between lets say 38Hz and 32Hz for someone sitting in the car listening to the music?

Seems that the weekend is nice and sunny - good time to get some work done...

32hz is gonna bring out the lows in music. so for example, rap songs that have lows, lets say "white girl" by young jeezy, the low note in that song will be alot more audible and you will feel it more than if your enclosure is tuned @ 38hz.

for daily use, you tune your enclosure to the taste of your music, and goal in mind (eg SPL,SQ,SQL)
