JL Audio 12w6v2 box help
Hey everyone I am new in the car audio world. I have had a cheap sub setup and have finally taken the first steps to upgrade. I purchased a JL 12w6v2 for $180 this weekend and am ready to build a box for it. I would like sealed and the JL website says 1.25^3. Is this the best size for SQ? Also is it better to build a square box or a box with curves (wedge look)? What about polyfill? I am still new at car audio so any tips are greatly appreciated!

I also recommend building it to JL specs. The only thing I might suggest is going with a ported design. I previously had 3 12W6v2's and they sounded just as good ported, only LOUDER! and a lil LOWER!
Feed it a clean signal and it'll take over rated power and sound great doing it. The W6v2's are a nice sub.

it works like this: The polyfill fools the woofer into thinking that it's in a larger box (one with more air, or internal volume, in it). than it really is.
so biulding a jl spec box then stuffing it. is pointless.(because it's no longer built to spec)
polyfill stuffing is a alternative for people who can't or don't want to allot a lot of space for a subwoofer box.

If you go ported, 1.25-1.5 @ 34-36hz is perfect depending on power. They'll dig down to 28-30hz no prob. They were some of the best subs I've ever owned.
