If a slot port/box is in an L shape than where does the port stop? The port width and box NET depth being equal. To answer the question... is a port only considered a port when the NET space is either larger or smaller and/or a different shape?

If your vent area gets too large then you don't have a tuned port anymore. At best you have a transmission line enclosure. At worst you have a box with a big hole in it.

Bose makes/made a commercial bass cabinet like this that is/was a 10 or 12 inch driver in a 10" diameter pipe 10feet or so long with the woofer about 3 feet into it.

Spend a little time with a calculator and vent sizing program and you'll see how it works.

and to add to it...for free! and they will complain on end because it wont work how they want because they are too lazy to learn how to use it

the younger generation has just learned how to pirate these programs anyways, so you may as well release it for free.

Not to mention most people in the younger generation wouldnt know how to figure out the equation.

I asked because I know who JunkInTheTrunk is and he should be hooked up. I believe he was being sarcastic.

The real caveat of any software or equations is if the user actually understands what they are doing. Designing a box and designing a box that WORKS are very different tasks..
