Smile Looking for an enclosure for a single 1060w.

Hello. I recently purchased a single 10" Infinity subwoofer. I am trying to find a good box for it. I looked at prefabricated ones but none of them meat the specs of this sub (sealed box volume=0.75 cubic feet, vented box=1.75 cubic feet with port length 4-3/4" and diameter of 3" at 35.0Hz and band-pass box=1.0 cubic feet with port length of the port 7-7/8" and diameter of port 4" at 50Hz) Is there a prefabricated enclosure you could point me to or is a custom one the only option? If custom could you please point me to a shop that can put something together in the Toronto area?
Also if I am leaning more toward sound quality then loudness would a sealed box be better?
On a side note I tried this sub in a Bassworx ported enclosure and every now and then there is a whistling noise coming from the port, so I guess this is because the box is .5 cubic feet smaller then the recommended one.
Thank you for any help.

I had that same 10" in a prefab Bassworx box. It sounded "OK" but the specs did not match the sub.

What you should really do is have a custom box built, It won't be too expensive for a single 10"

I'll never purchase a prefab box ever again.

You think I should go for a sealed or ported custom box if looking for sound quality? I mean if I put it in a sealed I'm sure it will be laud enough.
Any idea of how much this would cost? It would be great to have that info when shpping around.
Also if anyone knows of someone who makes custom enclosures in the Toronto are please PM me.

I'd go with ported, It will be 3DB louder then a sealed box with the same amount of power. Plus if the box is custom built to spec the SQ should be quite good.

Just make sure whoever builds it does a quality job.

for straight sound quality a larger sealed is the way to go.

Thanks for your input. All I need now is to find someone who will do a good job. Got a couple of numbers from kijiji just no reviews.

get someone to build one of these enclosures, or try to tackle them yourself
