i do custom FG installs all year.and in truth i rather work with the crap in cooler weather.i find it easier to lay and out before it starts setting up.

setting a osculating fan in front of the FG will greatly cut down the Harding, drying time.

the resin will harden but it will seem to take FOREVER. It may take days to harden, maybe even a week, whereas in the summer if you put it in the sun it takes like 3 hours. If I were you I would just put in more hardener, they sell it individually at canadian tire. Also heating it in the microwave may make your microwave smell like resin for awhile and I personally would just use a space heater and have it blow into the box to help it cure that will help alot but you may need to move it every once in awhile because it will tend to cure a bit unevenly just because the heat is uneven

oh also if you heat it in the microwave you better be fast because it will likely start to gel up very quickly but eventually it will cool to the outdoor temp and so to reach full hardness will still take awhile

People just don't appreciate your wit and sarcasm Yuli..

My advice is to keep your resin in the house so it starts out at room temperature. It will be easier to pour and lay out. If you are laying up against metal it is a good idea to warm it up first as well, but not necessary. I'll use a small space heater if it's chilly in the garage/car.

All this started because someone had a question and you called them a noob, like fiberglass curing rates at different temperatures should be obviously to everyone.

Its arguments like this that clutter up theses forums and cause it to be less affective for others to get there answers. Im not down to continue this with you.

Sorry sschung2000.

i'm actually fine with putting down 1 layer per week. the box is for a summer car and it won't be running all winter in any case. i should have another 2 months left before it get down below -10. if the curing smell isn't too bad i could try moving the box into the basement for curing as well.

thanks to everyone who gave me helpful advice
the smell will be overwhelming in the house and will take forever to clear out . I would keep it outside.
if you have anymore questions you can PM me if you want.
