Need your vote. 2 10s sealed or 1 10 transmision line

I'm currently running one 10 sub sealed, but its not enough to keep up to front "stage"..not enough omph. I have an identical sub and amp. tucked away (ran both subs and amps in last install only installed one of each in this install)
Two sealed would hit good ,be fast and simple to build but the Tl would improve SQ and still bump up the lowest range noticably..( I built Tl for home audio B4 unmatched bass quality and extension if done right) I would just have to be happy with only a slight increase in volume..and of course a bigger sacrifice on cargo area...wont sacrifice enough space for a pair of tls.
On the fence some one push me over to one side!

Why not go with that single 10 in a port enclosure?
Tuned like 30Hz. Chances are you'll only need 50% more total volume than going with two 10's.
And a proper TL for a 10 will most likely be very large.

I'm with Stephen on this one. The TL for a 10 will be very large, I'd go with a simple ported box.

If your main goal is to gain 'oomph' and low end without losing sq, I'll give a 3rd for the properly built ported box, either single or dual. T-line benefits vs space requirements don't fit well with car audio in most circumstances.

X3 Go ported.

This pretty much sums it up. If you have a wagon, truck, or van... sure give a TL a try... after a few attempts it might sound better than the ported enclosure... main problem being MOST people don't have a clue how to properly design one.

Go ported. :smokin:

I would do the TL, You jsut need to get creative to make it fit :) I have build 1/2 dozen or so for cars/trucks and ya it eats a ton of space but is no comparison . But if you can make fit then jsut go ported with the 2 of em.

Any advice on a program/calculator to design ported enclosure? (cheap/free) that i could use to plug the numbers into to see what sizes the ported box would be...
tuned to ~30 hz may be ok,about where the tl would be.
If the tl isnt much bigger that may be the way to go if ported is large...
ive never built ported only sealed and bandpass.

Use winISD.
There is also one on the RE website that's flash based.

Both will get you in the ballpark.

There are folks here that will help you design something up as well.

Ported, sealed and bandpass programs here. Quick and simple.
