port vs sealed question
I made my box for my cvr 12s sealed 1.5 cft each , Is this box too small to port?
Im kinda board and im gonna get another cvr soon anyway, thought i'd give the port a try

1.5 is pretty big for sealed app I found with that Comp Vr it would bottom out pretty easy with the 400rms it could handel.. as for ported not sure but if u check ur user guides that came with them it will tell ya what size to use...

sealed is 1.0-4.6 cft
The next box i build will be for three cvrs.
Can someone explain what differences i may hear by mounting a cvr in a 1.00 cft enclosure as opposed to lets say a 4.00 cft?
I'm not getting off topic i just want the pros and cons of sealed cft, before i go ported

A bigger box will provide flatter frequency response and deeper bass. Using a smaller box will generally generate higher output, with more of a peak in the frequency curve. Find that peak and u will find serious SPL.
GO PORTED!!!

^^^ I can't see using that sub in a box 4.6 fu foot sealed I know at 1.5 it would bottom out pretty easy then I went 1.0-1.2 cu foot sealed and eliminated all bottoming out. You will notice more a KICK in a smaller box and a big box it will seem more boomy at least that's what I noticed with the difference sizes when using sealed..

The smaller box will hit higher SPL at its peak frequency, but tends to die down before and after that peak. A larger box will give you better bass for listening to. The bigger box will sound better through a wider frequency range. What is the purpose of this box?

I want ALOT of bass but want it "punchy"
Right now 1.5 per sub it seems a little soft? Sorta mushy i guess, its hard to discribe
My other box was holding 2 12 inch blauplunkt pro components, pretty small inside probably 1 cft or a little less and the bass did seem alot more ,Hit ya in the chest kinda bass<thats what i want.
Does this make sense?
