port vs sealed question

used a 0.9 cuft and a 0.7 cuft ported box in my moms car (neon) (tuned to 32hz) 43" long port, did a 145.1 on the termlab, the boxes sounded friggen awesome too, they hit nice and low and hard. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Yes I would go a little smaller then, if you want it punchy. Now it's all trail and error.

If you're listening to some punk, metal, rock etc. I'd make that box a little bit smaller. Specially for the "punchy" bass you want. Some quick beats.
If you listen to hip hop, rap, rnb etc. I'd make it a bit larger but port the biatch to 35Hz and feel the vibes.

The majority of what i listen to is rock/metal with a touch of hip hop.
Thanx for youre help guys i'll start fabin up a new box next weekend to be 1 cft per driver,its gonna be tight fitting those 3 12s in the conventional way so smaller is actually better for me.

0.7 ported.......with a 12? hmmmm </font>[/QUOTE]ya it was weird it worked as well as it did, just a trail and error thing, Curtis' street b box was only just over a cube for 2 12's [img]smile.gif[/img]
