Building a Single 12" sub box for a Kaption SPL1200. Tuned to 55hz.
3/4 MDF
Double Faced
Brace in the corners with 45 deg
Glued, nailed and screwed
Resin and fiberglass the inside and outside
Bodyfill and paint

Going to have the face doubled faced and the sub flush mounted.



The face is not secured in but I sat it in place.

















Well its done. Not pictured is the bondo process. Only the face is done since the rest is going to see carpet.

 

1. Why did you only double baffle the front and port pieces?

2. Why such a small enclosure at such a highly tuned freq?

 

I miswrote the frq. It is 35 hrz

I only double faced it so I can flush mount the sub. The port is doubled becasue I was not a little to big in the volume.

 

I'd round over the port - both input and output

 

Yea the box has changed since I took them pics. It is now body filled and painted.
