Single 12" Ported or sealed

Well there's your problem right there, you have an Iphone. I suggest you set yourself up with an android based phone, you will be much happier.
And I'm going to be making an L port box. it's already been cut into pieces and I've left the front at my other work (which i've been temporarily laid off at) so they can CNC the hole out for the sub. Then next on my plan is to get subbox carpeting. Then eventually to put it all together, figure out how i plan on mounting both of the amps and then wire everything up. It'll probably be a couple weeks before i get to that stage though.

My opinion sides with Dukk on this. You could go with a smaller ported box tuned above 30 hz and you'll be fine. I have never gotten as good bass from a sealed box, ever, in any of my cars as that of a ported.
p.s. I listen to the "fringe" music and Classical, i'm tuned at 30hz and it sounds just fine. its when i'm tuned down to 22hz that only the "fringe" sounds will flourish, and DAM do they pound.
