Snail Shell/Horn?

I have not heard much on these types of enclosures , nor have i ever seen one ,but do they compare to a well built Ported box, would they go louder?. Interms of SPL, or are they mainly an SQ thing?

If you like mdf and have no use for space, check this out.
RESTRICTED
I built this box years ago and loaded it with 2 12"s, it was the loudest thing at my high school.

The snail shell is just hype. They tried to port a TL some how. Anyways it does not work.

I have built half of the whicked one that was linked to earlyer. It stands nicely in the corner of my living room. It is 30"x24"x10". It is not that larg intill you consider that that is just for a single 8" woofer. Oh and it was anything but easy to build.

A horn is esentaly just a fancy ported box. where a ported box has a bost at a certain frequancy, a horn has bost acrose a wide range. They are louder, but not in the one note wonder sense of the term.
