Subwoofer advice needed

I am in the process of putting a stereo in my new to me boat. In my old boat I ran two alpine type r 10's in a sealed enclosure powered by a PDX 1.1000 and I was pleased with the performance. In my new boat I don't have the space for that setup. I am considering building a tuned port box for a Diamond D912d4that I have had around for awhile and powering that with the PDX1000. Will I get as much level and quality out of the new setup? Any advice would be appreciated.

Across the full sub frequency range the answer is no you will not have as much output. The D9 is a fine sub so quality (I'm assuming you mean SQ) should be just fine given the correct enclosure.

Do you think that the SPL output would be a lot less or only a slight difference? The type r alpines used to really shake the boat and that boat was quite a bit larger.
