TYpe X BOX **CUSTUM**

HellO.

i am going to go ported, the box is 1.51 cubic feet. minus ~0.1 for the sub.

It is originally a sealed box, i plan to cut a 1-2 inch slot in the back and run a port along the back side of the box to acheive some PORT.

the box is 22 inches long, so i figure its going to be tuned to ~31 hz... how is the type X going to sound in this..? 10 inch by the way..

im going to get some pictures up to show yall. im basicaly just adding 4 peices of wood on to the box.. genius or idiot?? haha

see, imma cut a 1 or 2 inch slice in the back of this, and run a lenght of mdf all the way to the other side, about 23 inchs max, if i go shorter i tune higher,.. so il go as long as possible

see i already MODDED it out CUSTOM**

this is going in tha trunk of a 323i bmw, with NON folding down rear seats, so id like it to be as loud as possible, but still get low low low lowwwww..

unfortunatly i want to keep the stock dash together, so i ordered the cheepest LOC on ebay.. i bet it will sound real crappy YES????

build new. heard the 10" X and to me it didnt go low. weird.... btw 1.51 cubes - the sub but u also have to minus the wall for the port. and for the time that u will screw around putting that port in, screwing it, get it mesured for the top and bottom to fit perfectly u can build a new one in the same amout of time.

it will be more of a challenge modifying the existing enclosure, then to just build a new one.

use the re audio enclosure calculator. its simple and gets the job done.

i would do something like 1.4 cubic feet @ 32hz

make the port width about 1.5" wide, and then play with the other dimensions to get the desired tuning and cubic footage.

Buying the cheapest line out converter off of eBay wasn't the smartest idea. No matter what you do to that box it's goung to sound like ***.

Why not just cut a hole in the side and run a round port? Since you're going ghetto in a BMW, save the effort and have the port stick out the outside of the box. Saves time and you can tune to whatever frequency you want.
