what type of enclosure for 2 12 type-r alpine

what type of enclosure for 2 12 type-r alpine

i just purchased 2 12"type-r subs and am wondering what is the best enclosure for these and by the way if it helps its going in a 93 civic hatch

follow Alpine's recommendations for either sealed or ported, they both work very well with the rms power. I have two type R's in a sealed enclosure (needed the space), powered by a 1200 watt@1 ohm amp, and it sounds great. If I had the space though, I would go ported.

thanks, also i will be using my lanzar 800 watt 2ohm amp until i get a new one do you think this will be sufficient for now

that amp should be fine if your subs are the dual 2 ohm versions(each wired in series, and then the two subs wired parallel=2ohm). If they're the dual 4 ohm then you have to wire them into a 4ohm mono load in which case the amp will not be fully utilized. Remember an extra 200 watts (1000 vs. 800) will only yield about 1-2 dB's of extra output in that set up. So if your lanzar amp sounds good with your subs, you may want to think twice about spending a lot on another amp.
