All tho James can judge Double points. We are actually trying to organize an event at the oval this year again in may with the v8less group but mabye Pat can help out with this?????????
You can also compete and judge look at the rules.
We might be going to b.c. for a few events but not many because of the fuel needed to haul our beast. We will mostly be going to Dales shows and the Castlegard show and of course Daves. Thats about it for our b.c. run(s)
So we can meet up at those events Justin

Its not too bad of a drive and the WF is nice to attend whether you are competing or not. As far as shows in the East, Chris B is right. No multipoint judges and lack of attendance has caused the Eastern side to die down. Competitors will have to attend shows in the States if they want to compete. I am sure that if more and more Eastern Canadians attend the shows in the States OR any shows that do appear in Eastern Canada, show promoters may start producing more shows again.
Chris B did what he could in 2004 and didnt have support from DB Drag in Canada. At that time we had DB Drag Canada in Mississauga, Ont and 3 Ontario multipoint judges. Chris did all that he could to help the industry but the industry wouldn't help.
In 2005, DB Drag Canada moved to the West. On top of having to give up competition, pull out the Visa if you want to do anything for the East. To become a Multipoint judge for Ontario, You would have had to travel out West at your own expense (accomodations, travel, etc.) to multipoint events and work under the wings of Ray Choy. He requested that you do this 2-3 times. At the end, you would have to fly him to Ontario, pay for all of his expenses and produce a multipoint. Hmmmm what happened to Db Drag in the East?

with out any multipoint shows a rookie would have to attend 14 + shows single x1 and win all of them to gain that 100 points needed to go to finals
It will effect all of us because we put alot of time into the vehicles and equipment but do it for the love of the sport. To do a multipoint x2 will cut out alot of driving and expenses (hotel) to travel across boundries . It is true from what i have seen so far is that the movement will have to come together and the sport will have to grow with the dedicated builders . This will be an interesting year for SPL Canada.
