Does anyone have the # for US Immigration? I have looked and can't seem to find it.

Oh, and take it from someone who goes across a few times a week. You will want your ID and birth certificate handy as they ask for both just about every time.

Searchs suck ***, especially when you are handcuffed and can't see what they are doing to your car

Cool

Derek, for sure if they stop you, you will not be allowed. unless you got a pardon. i also have a record and until i get mine there is no way to get across unless they don't run your license. BTW if it's 10 yrs old why don't you get a pardon?

Well here's a link to a bunch of legaleeze that not too far down talks about "convictions".

Tough to decifer but,it's been my experience that if you have a job and the right papers and answer the questions correctly during primary; then you won't get hauled to secondary where they will ask about stuff like previous convictions.

Exclamation

I was informed by my mom this morning of the following:

If you are NOT...repeat NOT a Canadian citizen and are planning to leave the country, you now need a "Permenant Resident"card to re-enter Canada.

Without this card, you will not be allowed back into the country!

I have not looked into the details of this myself, but might be something for some people to look into..

I myself,as an American citizen, need to get one before I can go back over the border....

Something to look into.....don't know how many people are of foregin nature, but if you are and planning to go to Worlds,well....get on the phone Dude!!

For the past couple of years I have travelled a LOT to the US and Back again. Here are some suggestions / points to make (Besides the ID).

Depending on the Value of the system, you may want to declare it with Canada Customs so that you don't get nailed and they say you bought that 3,000 worth of Equipment in the US.

If a bunch of you are going down, try and schedule a crossing time, or a meet location. Call the specific border you are crossing, and inform them that you are going to the US for this Event. Back when I was in Scouts, when you had 50 or 60 cars packed full with Kids, and were wanting to cross to the US, we made sure that they knew of the large jamboree that we were attending; all vehicles were waved through.

Mind you this was a few years ago, I do not know if this will be the same, especially at a much larger crossing border.

Make sure your equipment is hooked up and WORKING, especially if you are storing all your things in your back seat instead of the trunk. The US Customs loves to pull me over to the side, but after a brief demonstration that my equipment is working, I am set free.

Any other information, or to double check, contact Canada Customs.. heres the link to Contact Page

NOS is illegal in Canada, if you have it in your car and are heading down, make sure to leave it here... otherwise they may not like you on your way back in...

My car unfortuantely looks a tad "Fast and Furiousish" so the border boy made sure to check my car for "NAWWSSS" before he'd let me back into Canada...

99% of the time I've headed down, they just ask where you're going, and why... you say a car show...

the older guys look at you funny, the younger guys ask you questions about it and your car, and the women act like they didn't know that people actually show their cars...
