Has anyone made a final decision on what time people are going to be leaving (Calgary)?.. I would assume EARLY EARLY wednesday from calgary? like 7 or 8am??

I don't think my conviction will be an issue. I haven't been able to track down anyone to give me a definite answer though. What border crossing will we be going through? I could call them and check.

James will not be coming, he has to write a job related entrance exam.

I have rebooked Tim's (blue Benz) room under my name and card. We should have lots of Rooms.

I vote through ST' Louis as well, I hear Chicago can be a nightmare.

Derek you can call the Pembina bordering crossing (go to the US customs website and look up the number) as this is most likely the one we are using south of winnipeg. You don't need to call Canada Customs but US Customs, obviously. I don't think I am going to try and join the group for leaving Winnipeg on the 15th, I have to stay at Grandmas for a night and spend time with her. So I will leave Winnipeg on October 16 and arrive on Friday October 17 at night. I can get a hold of you guys at the Marriot by the sounds of it (I will just ask the front desk). Any idea when we can get together as a group and do something (supper/drinks/pool I dunno - Friday night/Saturday night/Sunday night?) Just so I have an idea when I need to arrive as I don't want to miss that.

Maybe the best thing to do would be get everyones cell numbers. That would probably be the best way to make sure you join in the fun. Unfortunately I don't have a cell phone.

I will try and contact the border crossing today or tommorrow.

You guys are leaving your cell phones on? I thought the fees would be fairly high for long distance/roaming etc. I am taking my moms cell phone, but just for emergencies and leaving it turned off. I can reach you at the hotel I think. Are most of you guys wearing those Team Canada shirts? I didn't order one so I will have to come up with something else to identify myself at the show.

I didn't order a shirt either as I felt it is more fitting for people who are actually competing and not just spectating. I would guess that pretty much all the Canucks will be hanging out after the show ends friday and saturday.

I will be wearing my B-Quiet golf shirt one of the days for sure.

Well, Rob is the only one leaving from Calgary. For me and Steve it's much easier to go straight to the hat and on to regina and Winnipeg. Wade, are you and your old lady cool with some of us staying over, if it works out good?

Derek I thought the show wasn't until Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th. What does everyone have planned for Friday the 17th? I probably won't arrive until Friday the 17th in the evening.

Where did you guys book hotels rooms? I have checked out the Mariott and Wyndham Garden but I think the Comfort Inn is a better value ($30US cheaper than either the Marriott or Wyndham). and is walking distance to the event. I think I am going to book a room at the Comfort Inn Downtown for Oct 17 and Oct 18.

Okay guys I just reserved at the Wyndham - $79.00 per night works for me. I didn't think they would have any rooms left (the website listed none available but I phoned and they booked me in!). Who else is staying at this hotel other than Icon?

I think maybe me and Rob are leaving tues because its just me and him :confused: any word yet Rob? call me whenever.

Yes I think they can charge you for roaming regardless if you even make a phone call, that is if you leave your phone turned on. I will only use mine for an emergency, otherwise it is turned off. Wade which hotel are you staying at (Marriott Downtown right)?

OK OK. If you can take over the wheel once I get to the hat I will leave wednesday morning. What time do you want me and Steve there? Cuz if I don't have to be in the hat till noon, I can just get up in the morning and go. Steve could even come here on Tuesday night, stay over, and then we boot 'er to the hat for derek. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Calgary to Medicine Hat and about 5 from the Hat to Regina if I recall. I don't care what time you get here as long aas we arrive in Memphis on Thursday evening.
