qualifying for IASCA Finals
#21
i have seen dave out here in vancouver (judging shows) and i know that he is a dedicated competitor now. im have no clue on his past years. but dave has certianly made the proper steps to grow the sport in western canada(best to his abilities and the best to his obligations. Dave there is one more day to become a member(which you need to be invited no matter what the situation is) and there are 2 sunday shows left that include sound quality. sept 18 and sept 25. there is still time and a chance. should you feel the need to fully take advantage of the trip that we are embarking in oct 15-16.
call me if this is the route you want to take as i have the kits here locally and can get one sent to you. but this must be done before the 15th to qualify.
see you all at the show
congrats to both usaci and iasca finalists that will be there to represent Canada.

thank u Moe! why is there always soooo much speculation. there are always two sides to every story it would be nice if we would all remeber that instead of tring to sound intellegent through bashing something or someone. i personaly am proud to be a member of an orginisation that is so concerned about its compedators! hope that every one who is looking at registration will do there best to commit to the trip! i know that i am doing my best to make the treck and be ready. thanks again for your explanation.

still waiting.............. i guess i should start drafting a "dear moe" letter to get a invite.............
ive comitted to the trip to support usaci. it would be fun to compete in iasca since im already there. seein g as how i wasnt able to hit any iasca shows due to usaci event comittments, it seems to me that the exception to the rules rule would apply to me

I dunno Dave - seems you have two strikes against you making IASCA finals:
1. You're not a member and missed the latest registration date (unless you indeed hooked up with Pat on that last week)
2. Moe seems to say they specifically have denied people who have chosen to compete on other organizations and not IASCA when there is a choice:

There have already been some competitors turned down because there were numerous shows in their area and they have been competing in other organizations all season, except for ours. They tried the "Poor me, I want to compete but just haven't been able to, can I please compete at Finals" routine and it doesn't work.

i was waiting for a response befor i got my membership, didnt get one so i didnt buy one
i wasnt competing at the usaci shows that conflicted with the iasca shows, i was hosting or judgeing and sometimes both. its not that i didnt want to do iasca shows, between 5 usaci shows, car shows, running a store and overseeing 4 others, i truly was a busy guy and wasnt able to make it to the iasca shows, big difference between couldnt and wouldnt go. it really matter little to me if i go iasca at finals, i just thought it would be cool since i was already there to support them. i'll just hang out and have some frosty cold ones and do my usaci thing at finals

I wish I could join you boys.... It'd be a great trip! The cold ones down there doing what I love would taste like the sweet nectar of the gods Next year..... I'll be there.... My cars getting torn apart again... another layer of b-quiet's going down.... and somehow get the trunk of the car a little tighter without sacrificing the trunk release etc etc etc.... but that's a whole new thread starter.... anyways back to topic.... that's quite the trip to make it in the sprint Justin Good Luck..! You going solo or is the wife coming down?

Had you emailed me, there may have been a possibility that you would have gotten an invite; however, because I am not able to check the forums on a daily basis anymore due to my workload (which is why I specified that people email me), I wasn't aware that you were intersted in competing with IASCA until I read the thread today. Now, it's too late...
Like you, I am a car audio lover and a proud supporter of car audio competition in any format and/or with any organization; it doesn't matter which org you belong to, being a serious car audio competitor and having a passion for the sport is all that counts. Our pastime will not survive without dedicated people like you, me, Patrick Riquelme, Tim Baillie, James Chevrette, Ray Choy and everybody else who promotes, judges or competes; it's up to us to ensure its survival; not the manufacturers, distributors and retailers. We have to show them that we want to go to shows and that it would be worthwhile for them to host shows and/or support them in one way or another; without that what reason do they have to host or support shows?
It's great that you're going to the Finals to support USACi; this shows your commitment to making our pastime grow and the dedication you have to making that happen. But USACi alone, or IASCA alone, are not going to put the competition industry back on its feet by themselves. It has to be a team effort where all organizations come together for the greater good, the future of car audio competition as a whole.
So instead of focusing energies towards creating a weaker perception of one org over another, focus that energy towards a concerted effort to grow the competition industry as a whole so we can all win.
People like Ralph Randall and Paul Papadeas see the future, that's why they're working together with this year's Unified Finals; if they can see past the names on the banners, why can't we?

dave has a very grand look at competitions in the future. the few minutes i had with him did nothing but light my spirits and make me smile. Dave's prep for next year is already under way.
I posted about qualifying for finals way in advance. shows are always posted and a membership is an online thing or i can sell them to you directly from here. i check my emails a milion times a day. and i am the promoter in the area.
http://www.iasca.com/members/promoters/
that is why i post info and as much of it as possible. but im sure that you will enjoy finals and you will get an opprtunity to see what differences there are in both.
for all others that missed this opportunity, next year starts oct 17th. and we will see about getting a show happening in a month to finalize the year. still trying.
see you all at Finals and congrats to all those invited. Good luck
