1,000 watt front soundstage ?? OH YEAH!!
I recently purchased a PPI PCX 4125 and I just installed it today. I have bridged the amp to make 2 x 500 watts and it is all going to my front stage set-up (with attenuated rear accoustic fill). Basically, I have 500 watts RMS handling at the front (2 midbass, 2 midrange and 2 tweeter drivers) and about 100 RMS handling for the 2 rear fill speakers, all of which can be driven with a 2-channel, 4 ohm load using the front speaker crossovers. I was a bit worried that the 1000 watts would be way too much but, NO WAY!!! The gains are essentially all the way down and I have a line driver so I am probably feeding the amp somewhere between 5 - 12 volts.
It is SONIC NRIVANA!!!!
Merry Christmas!

i don't want to approve a pissing contest on power, but my 8" mids have 545 wrms into each, and there's another 1010 into the remaining front end...
excessive? yes, very much so.
sounds killer, even more so!

sniff, I feel so inadequate with my front stage running off deck power in my car right now, it just doesn't get any lower than that
